My site has been up for 3 months or so, indexed by google and that was it. Never did much to the site as I was clueless to the SEO world. Last week I decided to submit my website to couple directories. It got indexed in yahoo quickly then dropped out for awhole then came back. I go and check google today and my website is not there, when you click omitted results there it is. Should I be worried ? the website is nowhere near spam,

That will happen from time to time. It is totally normal for Google to de-index your site.

Even with new sites they will deindex sometimes 1000s of pages. Then they come back at some time in the future.

Once a upon a time, my site was among the top 10 for many years with hundreds of backlinks.

One day a wizard came and my site was (still is) no more among the top 100 despite having Alexa's ranking of below 250,000.

Your site is still indexed in google - what terms were your ranking for? For only being around 3 months it is going to be tough to rank for any competitive terms in general.

I see this happen a lot. When you first start ranking on Google, you'll pop in and out of the top 1000. Once you get some more backlinks and your url & links begin to age, you'll start to see more consistency in the rankings.

    Hang in there!;)
