Why did I lose rep?

Hi -

I'm somewhat confused. I posted in a thread offering DIGGS and now I lost 5 rep points but I have no idea why and it says in my comments "Cost of giving red reputation to someone is -1 rep taken + infraction next"

I've never given anyone red rep, what happened?

Looks like a case of mistaken identity to me - the red you got was probably aimed at the OP of that thread who was practically begging for green! Unless you got it for just offering rep.

 

Newbie first learning experience! DP Member don't like ppl offering out rep for such stuff.

 

But I didn't request or offer rep?

How can I find a MOD to ask about this?

 

Is practically offering rep. Offering, trading or demanding rep devalues the rep system.

 

I had given him rep for something else and I had wanted to rep him for this too so I was just saying I want to do something nice and it would come when I could...

Also in the comment it says"Cost of giving red reputation..." so I think someone thought I was the one giving red or something

 

Creating a thread and complaining about it isn't going to get your rep back... I guess your post appeared as if you were exchaning rep for the digg, which is why you received infractions

 

simply because you have broken DP rules & regulatoins...care for it

 

This is what I love about DP, 20 minutes and I have half a dozen people responding
