Why did I get these infractions? Am I not allowed to reply in my own thread??

I got THREE infractions for this thread. These are the only infractions I have ever got on DP, and I have been here for a little over a year (i think)

I apparently got the infractions THREE times (3 points) for BUMPING my thread. If you look at the thread I was just replying to the people that stumbled me and told them that I had to leave for a bit because I had to pick my son up at daycare. I had to write this because of the nature of the subject title "Stumble me and I'll stumble you faster" I wanted to let them know why they werent getting stumbled..

ALSO, I had also replied which stumbles I had replied to and such.

How is this considered bumping?? I wasnt even considering bumping that thread. It was a pretty pointless thread :(

Come on now, what is the deal here? I cant even reply to my own thread without getting an infraction???

I see 2 consecutive posts in the space of 1 minute, when you could have just as easily included the information in the first post only (by editing). That's a bump.

webster: thats exactly what I think! There is absolutely NO way to edit a post at any given time. Seems to me I think they should rethink their BUMPING infractions system.

CountryBoy: How could I if I am stumbling at different times??? How could I have posted that into my first message???

It's very easy to edit a post within the first 8 hours after it is posted - all you do is hit the 'Edit' button in the bottom right hand corner. If you require it edited after that you can request a mod does it. This is all explained in the FAQs. Don't worry about it Angela - your infractions will expire quicker than you think.

3 infraction in a row....they will expired together then problem solved. Infraction are just warning before you get ban. It happens to most members at least when their not expecting it.;)

Angela, It seems members have given you info about editing posts as one means to help avoid bumping infractions. No member should double post withing an eight hour period for edit button on any post is active for eight hours.

As has been stated in several thread, your posts should not serve as a note pad to validate the progress of your work.

Just trying to be helpful - don't shoot the messenger! It's only a problem when you post one after the other. I'm sorry - I thought you'd appreciate the help having been here "a little over a year (I think)" and not having the skill to edit a post.

Can we please stop starting threads when we know what we were given the infraction for. Seems to me that it opens yourself for more infractions and bad rep.

Lets be honest with ourselves and quit blaming others when we do something wrong. We have some of the best mods here and they do a great job for all the members there are on here. JMO
