    Well, the number of neanderthals in comparison to homo sapians were low as we know at this time. so it is possible for the neanderthal to melt into homo sapians.

    In the same region the average person has1-4% of their DNA matching the Neandies. In Africa where no remains have ever been found, the percentage is 0.
