I have been using Apple computers BEFORE the Mac and BEFORE the PC. And I have been using PCs ever since they were cobbled together in the mid-1980's.

Which do I prefer? Mac and only Mac. Why do I use PCs? Because for most any job other than DESIGN and AUDIO, there is a paucity of available off-the-shelf software for the Mac. Fortunately I can and do write my own software for my Macs, so if the cost/benefit ratio is great enough, I write the programs for the Mac so I don't have to fight the PCs to get the jobs done.

How many Macs have failed me? NONE, REPEAT NONE!!
How many PCs have failed me? ALL, REPEAT ALL.
Have I ever lost data on a Mac? NEVER, REPEAT NEVER.
Have I ever lost data on a PC? YES, MANY MANY TIMES.
Do I back up my data? YES, FOUR COPIES EVERY DAY.
Do I still have my original Mac? YES. Do I still use it? YES.
Do I still have my original PC? NO. I SCRAPPED IT OVER TWENTY (20) YEARS AGO.

I have NEVER had to reinstall ANY programs on any Mac I have used. I have had to REPEATEDLY reinstall programs on my PCs.

I have NEVER scrapped a Mac because it failed me. PCs fail me about every TWO years and must be replaced. My last PC failed about two years ago, so I expect another to fail sometime this year. Fortunately, I keep NOTHING of importance on the PC, so when it fails, all I will need to do is reload from my back ups. Or I might even hook a null modem cable up and reload the new PC from one of my Macs.

I've used MAC OS for almost a year and I find that it is easier to use it,
no more registry thing, and uninstalling program only need cmd+delete.

Previously I was the windows user and manage
my file is a little bit troublesome compared to how
    I do it with windows.

So overall, MAC is simple and more user friendly.
    :), that's all...

You've forgotten the Server market - they are near the top if not the top by now.

I think it's more of a trend thing, designers love to follow trends (which is the reason why Web 2.0 design is big in the first place)

Don't say that to my fellow developers.
Now you are following the line of thought that Microsoft no longer matters. And you would be correct.
    A computer is a computer.

Wrong! Microsoft is a minor player. 23% market share at most.

There is no such thing as "Web 2.0 design".

I was referring to the enterprise/business market, not web. Microsoft has been either #1 or #2 in the past 2 years in server market share sales per quarter according to IDC.

Note that they also lead the business email server (with Exchange) and email client (Outlook ) as well (just following on from the minor player comment earlier).

Regarding designing, having started work in a Computer Magazine years ago, designers were using Macs then so there is no surprise if they are doing so now as well. Obviously programs like Illustrator, Quark, Photoshop etc seemed to be designed to work much better (and it did) on Macs than PCs (if a proper/non-buggy copy even existed for Windows).

Nowadays, with Quad Core PCs, high-range video cards and RAM being cheap and so many designer software working quite well on Windows, it should not matter which platform someone is designing on. Obviously those who like working on Macs should continue doing so if they are comfortable with it but I know some excellent designers who work using the same packages on the Windows platform.
