I only briefly looked at coop, and went with LV simply because I liked the site interface better.. Why do you guys pick coop over LV? What does it offer you above LV? Or are they about the same?
I'm new here and still working on that passion thing for here I'll get back to you on that once I get to know some people around here.
They are really the same. You really just have to ask yourself if you want static links or rotating ones. Depends on your marketing and SEO concerns for your site. Good luck.
Coop will probably get you more unique IP backlinks much faster than Link Vault. I don't have hard evidence just yet but something that I am tracking. And for me, I do get more click traffic from the coop than LV.
Personally I dislike being limited to links, someone people only want x links per day. I want xxx,xxx links overnight
I trust the designer knows what he's doing with the coop advertising network, so I can relax and let it work
Sure, in fairness I never got into it. Been with co-op since it's infancy....if you could run both co-op and lv I would...but having to decide between the two I chose dp. The only other comment worth nothing is some sites are worth more by putting them in LV than dp. The weight/vaultage calculations differ mightyly.
I'm in the process of choosing between the Coop and LV. What I don't like about the coop: How many links represent 1000 weight? I have no idea. How can I be sure that my ads are up? There is no way. Sure, the Coop Master is very respectable, but having answers to these question would help a lot. What I don't like about LV: The process of adding links and consuming the vaultage takes time. Quite frequently (>20%) I see the links back to my site either on a page with no PR or missing. Question is: on which kind of sites is it worth running LV and on which the COOP?
You get what you give. So give 5x links over 5,000 pages and you get 25,000 links. I don't beleive you can translate "weight" to "links"
In terms of getting more weight / vaultage, LV works great with smaller sites that have PR since it takes into account the PR of every page while the coop only takes the PR of the base page. But again it is hard to compare apples-to-apples. I primarily use the coop and LV more as a supplement. Check out the experiment page below to give you a sense of how many links the site is getting for about 6k weight - roughly 600-700 unique IP links. But this can change as others join the coop. There is no automated way to be absolutely sure. You could put a "?ref=coop" as part of your link for your ad campaign to track clickthroughs.
So the basic difference..if I'm reading correctly.. Coop takes only the base domain (example.com) into account as far as PR and giving 'credit' (weight, vaultage, what ever you want to call it) where as LV takes into account the PR of every page when giving out 'credit'. I'm still confused on the static vs. dynamic link portion though. Is it LV or Coop that gives you static links? Or do you get to choose in both networks? I just started using LV and my experience is very, very limited. Just getting the basics down now..
The exact dp weight calculation and lv vault calculation is unknown. True static lv. From my experience of both coop works best for me. YMMV.
