Why Can't I Get Good Traffic? Please Help Me! Argh!!

hi, my sites are http://www.ilumu.com/ (gumtree search engine) and http://bathtab.co.uk/ (property search engine)
i've been promoting them on google adwords and yahoo publisher network.
what other ways should i be doing to get more users?
i would prefer free whitehat methods, please. thank you

If you can work on the SEO and get the sites ranked higher for the keywords that BUYERS will use, you won't have to pay for all of the PPC.

 

I suggest using ppc, but read upon it first.

i have tried stumbleupon, digg, etc and they gave good traffic for a few days, then dropped off as before.

 

Forums work well for me, can really increase your traffic

 

There are many ways to promote your website.

- Article Marketing - Submit to Ezinearticles 1st.... then submit to any other directories after articles are accepted.

- Video marketing - create videos tutorials, tips or whatever you want your videos to be about. I use a video submission service to submit my videos all over the place.

- Podcast - take your articles and read them. Record what you read and submit them to podcast sites.

- The same goes with Newsletters & Press Releases

Continue to do this over, over, & over again... set yourself for for continues amount of traffic. Don't get discouraged if the traffic isn't great at first it takes time. (i.e.. if you plant seeds today the flowers wont bloom tomorrow)

Find do follow sites for a white hat way.If you can, forums and blogs.Build backlinks but make sure you contribute in their discussion and not just pure advertising.

 

SEO it like crazy for relevant terms. While you wont be getting traffic like a craigslist search does I'm sure there are people seeking gumtree search as well.

 

- You hve not told yet, how much traffic you are getting and from which source?
- Do you track visitors?
- Try your hands on the source which is giving you the maximum amount of traffic?
- Do some research and track KWords.

 

Start Blogging. Free content marketing is one of the best ways to get free traffic from search engines, and syndicate content on the social networks like twitter, facebook, digg, etc. Marketing search engines and then monetizing them is a lot of work.
