Why Canadians dislike Americans....

Fact # 1) The dollar is at record lows against the EURO and if Japan and China and the investors in those countries pull money out of US investments and banks our financial system will go into depression.

Fact # 2) We have the largest deficit in the history of any nation in the history of the world.

Fact # 3) Bush Senior screwed the American people in the first Gulf war by not taking Saddam out when we were on the ground then.

Fact # 4) Oil is at record prices.

Fact # 5) We have no support from the EU, NATO or the UN and are now asking Columbia to send troops to back us up in our current Vietnam War that we will lose and leave in disgrace just as we did in Vietnam.

Fact # 6) Our soldiers are questioning Rumsfeld and Bush as to why they are still in Iraq and the media is reporting sagging morale.

Fact # 7) China, Russia, France and Germany will watch us and our soldiers get defeated before they will help, China and Russia will continue sending weapons into the war zone until we withdraw.

Fact # 8) This war will never end because of our bias support of so-called Israel our 51st state, since we are not even handed with the nations of the mid-east they all hate us and will use our oil dollars to buy weapons to destroy us.

Fact # 9) We need honorable leaders and not the Bush Senior administration that got us into this mess in the first place when he let Saddam live in the first Gulf war in a dirty oil deal.

Blame it on the Canadians Minstrel, I do believe that folks from Canada generally have more sense than American's, no wonder Americans are leaving for Canada

 

Think about history. America stood by and did nothing during the postwar British betrayal and occupation of arab lands. America has been imperialist throughout much of its history, it has changed sides in the middle east almost continuously and it has only steadfastly supported isreal and this obviously doesn't sit well with them. American ideas contrary to the Quran have infilitrated their culture and assaulted deeply-rooted beliefs. An abusive rapist who tosses candy the way of his victim every once in a while is not worthy of respect, in their eyes. If we were trustworthy and made honorable moves on the world stage, not convienient ones, then they might be convinced to do the same.

Hitler was a man of conviction as well. I'll take rationality before conviction anyday.

That's an interesting theory, but it will only have a chance to come true if our global communication infrastructure remains intact and western ideas continue to flow through it. There ARE 3 more continents out there you know - even though their influence has dimished of late, we can't base our long-term future on less than a century or two of major change.

Ever since high school began and I was exposed to many viciously ignorant ideas growing up in the south, I began to train myself to look at reality through the lens of non-bias, shoving aside as much as I could that wasn't grounded in logic, fact, or the fundamental goodness of man that I felt was justified in making these evaluations.

Growing up I too was enraged every time American blood was spilt, and even suggested that America nuke her enemies and be done with them. But as I got older and started withdrawing from the crowd and the circulation of centric, popular opinion, I realized that there are many ugly truths about life in this country that must of us just stumble past. Nationalism is rampant, and we have a serious supirioirity complex. Our cultural norms, often strange taken at face value, are vaunted, celebrated and those of others are condemned and mocked.

I'm open to an open-minded debate. But facts are key here. America, indeed the western world, would be nothing without logic - let's try to sustain that here.

 

What is the difference what descent one is ST, like I said stick to the facts of the debate, not if a brother says he eats pigs feet then he has to be a black man.

Maybe if someone says they eat a pork roast on new years day you will ask is he a Catholic?

If one keeps the Passover does he have to be Jewish?
