Rules Why Buyer Struggle To Get Likes

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by stormbrain, Jan 28, 2013.

    Hello friends,

According to new rules in Digital point, buyer and seller both need 3 likes to create a thread in market place. My question is that why buyer struggle to get 3 likes? I realized that, only sellers struggling to get 3 likes. Why buyer buy premium service to post a new thread? i realized that, only sellers buy premium service to sell a product.

if all buyers went from DP to another site. How DP success?
Because new rule are not friendly for buyers.

    Best Regards

If it's just people who are unable (or unwilling) to post something useful enough that they get 3 likes, it probably would be a good thing actually.

If you want to do business, contribute something meaningful to the forum. It really is that simple.

lol...Unfortunately for some it seems to be unbelievably difficult...and seriously now anyone starting any more threads complaining about the likes system should be banned for spamming, its all been covered about a hundred times now and getting a bit boring.

Yep, which is the whole point of the system... If posting something useful is impossible for you, those are the users we are trying to turn away. So I guess it's working. :)

I hope that not having good English skills will *never* prevent any member from contributing here. Don't ever let that stop you. I just gave a like to a member who posted in less than perfect English. I not only appreciated the comment but the effort as well.
Also by posting more often, members who are not natural speakers of English will improve their English writing over time.
I was not able to speak or write proper English until I was about 12 years old......... persistence pays!

If you don't want to contribute something useful to the forum members, then you must contribute something to the forum itself by being a Premium Member. You can choose one of them, it's fair right?

I know some English speakers who still can't speak and write properly. They are adults, too. In my view, a non-native speaker should never feel bad about it. At least they are trying. My wife is not a native speaker, but I find her English very easy to understand. No problems with spelling and her grammar has come a long way over the past two years.

@stormbrain, The content is what is important. Your language ability won't stop you if you have some knowledge you can share. So what if the grammar isn't 100%. There's a spelling and grammar checker built into the editor, anyway. Keep sentences simple and short. Don't worry about using fancy words, as these can hinder effective communication anyway.

    All the best.

English not the problem to me. But the problem is "I am not getting what type of post is useful to the DP user". Because I posted a think this topic is useful to all. But till now no any like for my that post.

Some one told images at post can help to like the post. The question is this true?

    Thanks

Rather than posting what you think is a topic useful to everyone, why not visit a section like programming, PHP, Wordpress or whatever (as an example, try a section you're familiar with) and help people (irrespective of if they can give you a like or not)?

I'm not saying they all are, but if you keep this kind of trend, I can't see it happening.

You don't have to start a new thread to get a like.

Bottom line is if you need someone else to tell you exactly what to write to get a like, then the system is working perfectly.

    As I wrote before:

Translation: use your own brain and initiative.

@Shawn, how about a 100% fakey dislike link? It might just help people feel better sometimes, even if it really does nothing.

Don't give up as you only need 1 more like to be established. Most fair minded members will give you a pass on your English, and will judge you and other non native speakers of English and their comments on merit alone. I don't feel that an avatar would make any difference one way or the other.
Good luck to you on getting your 3rd like....keep contributing!:)
