I have seen it in this section that people who want backlinks generally don't prefer blogspot even if they are high PR. Is there any valid reason behind it or do people just don't trust those blogspot blogs?
I see no issues in getting links from high quality, well-maintained and high PR blogspot blogs. They are equally effective and give a nice boost in SERPs too. It is my personal experience that speaks so . However, it's just a myth that they don't work well. They DO. Chill & Cheers!
One problem I can see with blogpsot blogs - somebody can decide that any blog is spam blog and close it.
For me personally, it's not about the link quality, the PR figure or the fact that the site can be cancelled by a third party. It's more of the impression that it gives of the seller. If you're serious about making and running a website (which goes hand in hand with providing a solid link), you're going to invest $8 in a top level domain name and some cheap hosting. It's as simple as that, for me anyway. I try and refrain from buying .blogspot.com links as they hardly ever last. I used to buy a lot of "permanent" links on .blogspot.com blogs last year and can count on one hand how many of them sites are still live, let alone the links. The shared IP address is also a big turn off for me, but it wouldn't put me off completely.
Cant't Google think that? I am sure that they have the same power. The answer for the first question is, it is really hard to get a high pagerank with a .blogspot.com domain name. If you see that 95% of pagerank sales with .blogspot.com with bulk content then you decide that these backlinks are bulk. If you have a backlink from http://googleblog.blogspot.com/ you are lucky. I would buy a link from this blog if it were possible.
Blogspot blogs are hosted on same server having the same IP - If you get one link from blogspot blog then other links from blogs hosted on same server will not give you PR juice .
Maybe because they are FREE. That is the one reason. But i still believe that backlinks are still backlinks.
