We get good traffic from blogs because of variety of content and regularly updates and as blogs are updated on regular basis, the bots visits them whenever there are new updates. And with the help of blogging we can also rank higher in search engines for different queries so it helps in giving a boost to traffic and as well as business.

Blogs are as important as any other content management system today. I don't see how blogs are more important than a custom CMS? In my opinion WordPress is a little bit overrated. You will still need a proper on-page optimization and lots of quality backlinks in order to rank for highly competitive keywords.
