Dear Members I had a question, I read from one of SEO advisor comment that "Blog commenting and forum posting not considered as Backlinking Skills". If these are not Link Building techniques then which techniques are considered as Link Building Skills?
Link building is the Process of getting other Sites to Link to your Site. If you comment on a blog and it provides a link back to your site, you've just built yourself a link. Whether or not that link is valuable all depends on the quality of the blog, the number of other comments/links, and other factors. So to reiterate, Blog Commenting/Forum Posting is (at least in my opinion) Link Building and could potentially be beneficial.
Blog and forum commenting are indeed powerfull SEO tools. And, since it is all about traffic: they do a great job if you apply them well.
I can understand why people saying that. They get stuck with nofollow blogs and unrelevant forums. Me, I got the same problem, mostly my forums posting is SEO, internet marketing, where i can get link from signatures and I am still looking for relevant forums with my niche to post as I believe forums and blog commenting is good SEO technique.
These sites will provide you backlinks. IMO, you must stick to do follow list of social bookmarking sites, do follow blogs and forums, do follow article and directory sites for a variety of number of backlinks.
You must use mostly dofollow links from blog comments and forums. But to make it natural you must add some nofollow comments. Commenting is quite good technique in link building strategy!
You are looking for traffic anyway, that´s why you do SEO; so look for blogs and forum that are topic related to your site.
look, the reality of SEO for google is that we are all scurring about trying to sound like experts in an industry that can only be described as a rediculous farce. take the notion of relevance. if you can find 500 backlinks from sites are "relevant" to yours then you would be in an extreme minority. most people, experts and novices alike, get links wherever they can find them. then there is the scamming neccessary to survival. blackhat seo, lying about locations to show up in maps outside your true area, and scandalously getting scammed links from gov and edu sites. what an unrealistic and ultimately unsustainable thing Seo is. you can get to number one until the next fast draw rides into town and outguns you. the amount of time a small business spends on seo is ludicrous, many hiurs a week, goodbye weekends. adwords is too expensive and most people have developed a healthy distrust of adwords, with good reason.
then there's the So-called SEO experts who all sound very smart, savvy and expert about seo who really often haven,t a clue about the real world works. they talk about domain maturity, usefulness of the site, quality f the site structure, etc etc, but a website with no maturity, useless content, spell mistakes, and shady dealings can go get a huge amount of backlinks and edu or giv scammed links from utterly irrelevant sites and get to number one and stay there and reap the rewards, while the experts fail to explian how this can happen when it defies all the unwritten rules, including googles own webmaster rules. what a joke.
i know a seo firm who charged a client $10,000 over period of a year until client got the smarts and found out what they got for their ten grand. 20 something backlinks and a listing on the seo merchants own list on each clients website.
tday seo firms are like leeches in a swamp. they target small business, just the type of client ready to believe anything and no way to know any different until the results of the seo catch up with them and show them how they wasted their money. seo advising would have to be to biggest scam going on in australian business at this time. easy money and easy to pull the wool over the ir eyes.
i would say that any type of inbound link is healthy, but so called "junk links" are not what you want to base a website on, but they do help. Consider blog commenting an essential part of a complete backlink profile: 1. blog comments 2. social bookmarks 3. directory posting 4. press releases 5. article posting
