    I don't think that tool is very dependable. I put one of my older domains in there and it says Google and Yahoo report 0.

    Don't worry about it. Stop wasting time looking for that shit.

    Back links showing here or there is not a sign of success.

    Traffic = success.

    Get more links.

    The fact that having *nice numbers* to indicate how many you have will not help at all....well maybe satisfaction. Just put aside the issue and concentrate on link buildings. If you have it, it will show up no matter how.

    Hi,

    You mentioned that your site is one month old, so it may take some time to show links in google, yaho and msn

    On thing is that Google will show only links(mostly) with page rank. It means
    You need to get links from tha page which should have at least some PR.

    If you want links, i can do it. Please contact me at - texasddc at gmail dot com

    don't worry about checking backlinks though, just keep building quality content ;)

    Patience. It takes awhile for the billions of links created each month to get indexed. A little over a month is not that long to wait. Keep up your efforts and over time they will get counted. I would recommend using yahoo to search for your links instead, it seems like about the best tool to do so. query=link:http://www.yourdomain.com

    Thanks for the replies. I do see about 400 links in Yahoo Site Explorer, but many of them are from my own site. I'm just curious why I don't have a single one listed in Google using the link:www.hotcajunrecipes.com .

    I've got my site optimized fairly well but I'm not showing up in the top 1k in either Google or Yahoo. I guess I'll just have to give it time.

    I use Google Webmaster Tools to check backlinks and have found it to be reliable. You can sign up for it under your Google Account.

    The Google Webmaster Tools provides great information in regards to External and Internal links. The only problem is that it's not updated that often. You can check inlinks through Yahoo Siteexplorer by typing "link:www.yourdomain.com" or "linkdomain:www.yourdomain.com". Yahoo inlinks is updated pretty often from my experience. It's showing 202 indexed pages and 383 inlinks per Yahoo Siteexplorer.

    Hope that helps!

    The public face of how many links you have and the private one i.e via Webmaster tools are totally different

    Google has not been giving an accurate representation of backlinks for a long time now. Look at Yahoo Site Explorer.
