My ad's on my site are not at all relevant to my content. My site is about an xbox game called fallout 3. but all the ads are advertising is blogging and blogs. Why is that and what can i do remedy this?
There may be no ads currently running for 'fallout 3'. Alternatively, you can try using the competitive ad filter tool and remove the urls of the ads that are showing up. OR Your page may not be written in a broad fashion, keep it precise and keyword friendly. OR It usually takes some time for google to find relevant ads, I have found that sometimes only after an hour or two my pages start displaying relevant ads. How old is your webpage?
Make sure "Fallout 3" is in your page title and H1 or H2 tag. It's plausable that your template or site may have alot to do with blogging, either that or it's a poorly optimized design. Sometimes it takes a few hours or even days to get the most relevant ads.
Also you can target sections of the page for adsense using google_ad_section_start in the body of your page and ignore sections with google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) like this: <body> <!-- google_ad_section_start --> My targeted page text <!-- google_ad_section_end --> <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --> Ignore the text in this section <!-- google_ad_section_end --> </body> Be sure to end the sections with google_ad_section_end. This change can take a few weeks to show.
