And by that I mean, being involved in IM - or any other business utilising the power, freedom and individuality of the Internet. The world is out to trample all over you. Your life, your aspirations, your very soul. Pigeon-hole and typecast you into pre-defined roles and types....and expects you to shut up and stay there. Your'e in the gigantic, institutionalised world of the corporate, organisational machine. The educational system, the political system that decides who our leaders are, even the jobs we work at seem to be designed for somebody else's benefit.....and somebody else's profit. Some us though won't fit in. Won't stay put....and won't shut up. Is this you? Been told you're not a "team player". Perhaps even lazy. Unfocused. Never amount to anything. Undisciplined. Trouble. Because you can't stick the 9-5 treadmill. The dress codes, the five hundred page employee policy manual, or the institutional corporate speak, the anal performance reviews - but are expected to accept without question the cutbacks and layoffs when they inevitably come your way. Other people who "mold" into this do well. When others like you and me don't fit in, we get punished. It's the way the system works. You have never ever been allowed to do things in your business life to do the things you really want to do, exactly how you want to do them. It's as if we've been forced, from a very young age, to do what others want us to do - to live someone else's life. You feel you've been conditioned, day in day out to do things that are not really important to you, trivial things that really don't matter...not to you at least. You've spent your precious energies and time producing "stuff" for other people that is incongruent and inconsistent with your personality, leaving the best of you, your most creative, ambitious self to express itself in the few hours you have left in the day, when you are run-down and the sun has started to set on your day's life force. Can you relate to any of this? I can. And I know why I'm here on a journey learning IM. Just thought I'd share.
Why am here -> found Digital point on google search. Seemed interesting. Joined thinking sharing knowledge and services
I hear what you're saying OP, It's a shame that so many people live a cookie-cutter lifestyle by following the pre-conditioning that happens to all of us as we're being raised. I came here originally to add another quality IM forum to my list of resources. Have met a lot of very cool knowledgable people here in the process as well. One thing I've learned since starting to make my full-time income online is that the more friends you have to bounce ideas off of, the quicker you learn. Great post btw
seems a lifetime since I stumbled into DP I have made a lot of sales of scripts websites and domains through DP in my time here and almost 99% of the members here will help each other so Hats Off to DP
I've been stumbling onto DP for the longest time but only registered yesterday, or maybe I have registered before but don't remember. My thought when I joined was I can answer some of the questions posted here... and I'm sure some of my questions can be answered here, too. Maybe I was also thinking I can attract a few solid reciprocal link exchange partners, the strategic type of partnership... with a wide network of sites. hehehe.
Acutally, I have heard the name of DP for quite a long time, but only signed in last month, i gonna to find the interesting thing about it by myself!
im here because i heard alot of Hot chicks are on DP. lol. for real I am here for the knowledge and diversity.
From your responses, it's great to see the number of people wanting to better their lives, learn more and do things their own way utilising the power and reach of the Internet. That is what I was getting at in my initial post...
I was into IM quite some time ago but now I just visit when I need something designed. DP is a great forum and I like to peek in and read-up on what is the "latest" thing in IM.
