Well, I'm a Mac user primarily, but if I have to use Windows, XP is the only way to go, I have a laptop that's a year newer than my iMac and has 2 gigs more RAM, but my iMac is still way faster, as it's not using Vista... I have XP on bootcamp, and I still prefer that to my vista laptop. I feel like Vista oversimplifies everything, and that's coming from a Mac user.
The problems with vista isn't because its purely bad software its because people are having hardware conflict, don't have enough ram, or processing power to run it correctly I find it really funny when people try to install a new OS on a 10 year old computer. If you have a good computer that meet at tech specs and make sure all your hardware and software are compatible with each other you will not have any problems with vista. Windows Vista is not a bad OS at all but I always prefer apple products over anything these days.
XP every time. I went through this same thing from 98 se to xp. I didnt bother with millenium or 2000 and i wont bother with Vista just because MS want more money for basically the same program just mushed around a little. Besides any Vista computer Ive used has been slower and more resource intensive than my xp build.
I have to agree with his. I have a 7 year old pc, vista runs sucks ion my pc so i use xp. But i do know that its my hardware problem. Xp runs fine on it. My bros have good laptops and vista runs great on it. Its just that when between xp and vista releases hardware has developed alot unlike the windows 2000- windows xp gap. So, if you have some old hardwrae then vista has its needs too, it will take some meory and you wont be able to run apps. If you have old hardware stay on xp, but vista is much better.
Vista sucks, xp run better and xp is more stable than vista, but dont know about windows 7. But i prefer mac
1. Is eating a lot of resoucers, ram , cpu ... 2. compatibility , it's very hard to install an Apache server with php module,etc...
If you think XP runs well on your old hardware, you should fire up Windows 3.1 or 98.... SCREAMING. Microsoft operating systems require new hardware. Linux, on the other hand will run on a 386... WELL.
Microsoft thinks that people would fall for Gimmicks (graphics and color), but those days have gone, people look for performance, stability. In those terms XP is good (Microsofts only Saviour). Vista can never fill that place, and I think Microsoft is not going to achieve anything superior when compared to XP or other Operating Systems like Linux and its variants.
Silly rabbits. Tricks are for kids. It is very easy to debate the logistics of xp v. vista because there is no comparison. XP is what it is. It is stable and everyone that knows anything knows how to use it. Microsoft does what they do and they create more insecure opportunities for consumers to get lost in the matrix of products they produce that there is never a clean ending or beginning with. In new versions of their OS they change things that didn't need to be changed and in effect leave their customers like the tuna flopping on the decks of the fishing boats of commercial fishermen polluting the waters and a bad taste in everyone's mouth. My apologies for the rant, but even though I hate to admit it, I can get use to Vista though I prefer XP. I can lean anything. But why make your customers go through anguish? That's what I don't understand.
try doing this on Vista: CTRL-H Esc Enter Alt-F8 Alt-CTRL-F9 Enter Tab Shift-F3 CTRL-V CTRL-F3 Enter Space Space Alt-F5 CTRL-F5 Windows-D Enter 95570 Enter Esc Enter Enter Alt-Tab F7 F4 Enter
Fortunately I do not have any computers running Vista but I am dying to know what that sequence does. Cheap SEO gimme a hint...
I have vista and i can never go back again to XP. For me its faster more reliable no BSD or something similar and looks much better.
