I use XP since long period of time and it is more comfortable to me than VISTA.
Most of the persons used XP instead of VISTA.
    XP is world famous software.

I've had Vista now for over a year and I am very pleased with it.

I had XP on all my machines for years and had many oportunities to change to Vista but I chose not to because of things I had heard. I bought a new computer last year and I decided to try Vista out as it was the pre-installed OS. I've loved it ever since and I've had no issues.

    Lol same with me. XD

It seems like people that have problems with Vista are the ones installing it on shitty computers that weren't made for it.

errrmmm....mine is a very fast laptop that came with Vista pre-installed. I am posting this comment from that very laptop (now with XP Pro on it). Therefore, your point does not hold much weight. ;)

Well there are other things that go into it, like when you purchased the laptop, as Vista wasn't stable when it first came out I agree on that. But as of right now Vista is very stable and gives me no problems whatsoever. I don't see why people complain about it, unless if they have crappy computers that have trouble running it.

I voted XP, but question the absence of Linux on that vote, seems to be superior to both for me

I'm guessing the thread starter wanted to dedicate the thread to Microsoft made OS's.

That's like saying "it's your fault you bought a crappy PC that can't run a BASIC operating system" to someone who just bought a brand new PC! I don't blame the people, I blame the OS manufacturer for not telling consumers that their product will not work well on some PC's.

Eh you have a point there I guess. They should have been more open about that. Hopefully that will be fixed with Windows 7, I heard it is less of a resource hog than both XP and Vista, so more people will be able to run it.

It's not that I am against it. It is just that I am not for it. Windows 7 is what I am waiting for.

Vista is very slow and its always asking your permission to do stuff. Even opening dreamweaver makes the screen go dark and ask permission, its so annoying.

Well. In the worst case, I will just stick to XP. I think that Windows 7 will be the next version the majority will use, unlike Vista. If not, than XP it is. :p
