I know I chimed in a while ago with my answer, but just saw this image again... This is all I could do with Vista Home Premium on my Daughter's computer. No Webkins, no Club Penguin, no Care Bears... Just BSOD. She wasn't happy. (that pic is from during the installation process, never got beyond it on several tried. But XP Pro, XP Home, and a few flavors of Linux all work fine on the same machine).
I have vista on the laptop, I'm using XP right now. I like the vista features but it has too many errors such as: This program will not respond or something. XP on the otherhand, is a lot quicker when it comes to loading!
The answer to this question is simple, compatibility. Other thing is that vista is a memory hog, I mean, 512 mb minimum? Come on, OS should only take minimum amount of memory, and 512 isn't a good minimum. Sure it looks good, but come on, it takes forever to navigate, and if you have a problem, good luck trying to find out whats causing it. Another thing is licensing, You gotta have individual license for each computer in your own house. How crazy is that? I think Billy has too high of a money craving. I am XP man myself so I don't ever plan to upgrade to vista.
vista is the reason i keep a 3 year old computer in good shape. a family member of mine has vista and i tried it. i hated it. i also never hear anything good about it.
Are you living in expensive RAM era? I mean "C'mon! it's just extra 10 bucks." I suggest stingy people stick with XP for another 5 years, because you can't shell out extra 10 bucks for RAM. No offense taken but I just don't think it's a good idea to buy new system with 512MB of RAM. That would be plain stupid either you run a XP, Vista, Linux or Mac. Well, if you want to surf websites only, buy some crappy old laptop for that purpose but not a brand new machine with 512MB of RAM! I'm not talking about upgrading from XP to Vista on the same old machine here. I recommend a completely new Vista machine packed with fast Core 2 CPU, 2GB+ of RAM and VGA. C'mon! It's an investment here. High-end PC components are cheap these days. Unlike 5 years ago, you won't burn your arms and legs to buy a high-end machine now. Again, come on, put new OS in new machine.
There's nothing wrong with either XP or Vista. Their bother way better then the first computer that was made is it not? Think of the advantages it has. Anyways, in my opinion I <3 my Windows XP Media, but i don't like the bubbly XP interface . All in all, i like XP over Vista. But before i get skipped in reading, if you read this you can hate on me i guess lolol. I hate macs and the interface but i don't hate vista at all XD. Go go everyone hate on me now.
i have vista installed and i like them althouh they have some issues with drivers and not compatible programs.. but but in general are better than xp
Games are slower, direct x10 is a crap, takes huge chunks of memory and there are some apps not compatible with it, and some hardware to. But besides that win XP is still okey.
Xp Is Better Its Easy Vista is Very Modified But When I Uses Vista My Eyes Starts Paining Lol Very Light XP Is Cool
I'm using Windows Vista now, though I do still miss compatibility in Windows XP. ("No it's not a bug, its a feature!": That's why Windows Vista has much more features than Windows XP.)
