I just bought a new computer the other day. Vista seems to mess up alot and I have to restart. No bigy updates will come to fix errors soon hopefully
Ditto, I would have chosen Kubuntu (Ubuntu with KDE). Vista may be better than XP on some machines optimized for it, but it is still buggy. I would wait until sp1 is released before trying it, and even then I am not sure.
Witch really sucks. yeah I really can't wait till service pack 1 comes out for vista it will solve alot of problems.
That's my complaint too. I turned off all the user prompts (Vista Biz edition) and still it asked for permission when moving files. How annoying. I pulled my hard drive, installed a new one, and reinstalled XP. /*tom*/
Well i have installed Vista and i am really loving it, i just dont know what you people are talking of, it seems none of you have seen or used vista coz the allegation you people are making are pretty ameturish. The options in vista are 200% better and customized as compared with XP.Especially the problem of "window lost" is now gone coz you can view opened windows in 3-D style... @ mhamdi Its not hard to hack coz i know many hacks that are really working, anyways microsft should ensure there should be no hacks at all, this will help eradicate piracy and illegal software usage.
I heard that vista does not work well with custom computers and my pc is all custom built so thats why I'm not going for vista.
I am going to buy a laptop soon. Which system should I buy ? I am planning for C2D. What are the recommended (not minimum) hardware configuration to run vista smooth & fast ? Or I just go for XP ? Thanks.
Depends what you want out of your computer. I quite like windows media center, so if you want to have a media emphasis in your OS I'd go with Vista, or if you want a pretty desktop I'd stick with it as well. However if none of these things really bother you much, you can aalways stick with XP. As for specs, 1 GB of memory is required to run Vista well, 512 is okay but it can get a bit sluggish. Graphics wise any late model video card will do, even budget oriented cards. Of course if you want to game then put in a higher end card by all means. Processor wise you cant really go wrong these days. Either an Intel Core 2 or an AMD Turion X2 should serve you well.
I have home premium and it works great. Importing video and pictures is easy and it comes with a lot of simple editing tools.
