Vista is sort of a rat race - more resources, more money to spend on them, more of this more of that... my old XP works just fine and it does what I want it to - if I get tired of it I will move to Linux or Mac

Try using Linux and see what new world it opens. You can run all kinds of servers that would otherwise cost you thousands with Microsoft.

Linux is great for servers, I have one, but for personal use there is a big learning curve so I use Windows.

That's partially due to the fact that virus developers target the operating system that the majority of people uses. If everybody had a Mac, it wouldn't be virus/spyware-free either.

    I currently still have XP.
I heard both good and both bad things about Vista. At this moment, I wouldn't go for Vista yet, however over a few years, yes, I'ld go for it; because its more secured by then (well, at least I hope so ...)

Currently I stick with XP ;)

I COMPLETELY disagree. I know for a fact Microsoft holds off on releasing new operating systems until after apple releases theirs. Once apple launches a new OS, Microsoft rapidly develops similair technology and when they do this, Microsoft releases their new OS way too soon. Hence SERVICE PACKS! Virus developers would not be as successful as they have been in the past if Microsoft TRULY cared about their work. Microsoft is only interested in competing, not leading.

The only reason microsoft is as bloated as they are is due to the price difference in hardware compared to apple. If everyone knew what OS X offered, microsoft would not exist as they do today.

    Just my opinion!

    Cheers!

Honestly I was against the Windows Vista operating system at first.

My computer died and the new one came with Vista, I swore that I would install Ubuntu in no time flat. However that was a month ago and I am still using Vista.

Microsoft did what microsoft does best and they stole the best from OS X and Ubuntu and put it into this package.

Two thumbs up from me on Vista.

Yeah they should stop cause they suck ass at it. Microsoft spends so much $$$ in R&D and what do they end up doing? They copy OS X's UI (quite sickening and undeniably true) and make it slower and more of a resource hog than XP, which already sucks beyond belief, with all the viruses out there for Windows.

People say that there are no Mac viruses because nobody cares if a small portion of the computing population is hit, but they are wrong. OS X is perfectly streamlined and it is updated constantly to make it safe. The hardware and software work together; this is not the case with Windows. XP sucks, Vista sucks worse. Linux ain't bad. Mac pwns.

Everyone said the same thing about windows 95, then windows 98, omg then windows XP and now Vista...You'll switch sooner or later. Either way vista or apple you will switch. You have little choice as sooner or later new software won't support XP...Might as well stop complaining and join in. OR GET A MAC..:D
