Please write less than a paragraph, no copy and paste, simple language version of why we went to war in Iraq and what are current mission is. Please make it easy enough for even me to understand:)...

We went to war because it was believed at the time that Saddam Hussein possessed heinous weapons of mass destruction that he could unleash on the western world at a moments notice. Sadly that belief was incorrect. We are there now because toppling Hussein's regime left a vacuum of tension and instability, which will remain the case until the Iraqi government becomes fully established.

I believe the main objective was to knock down all of the Saddam statues.

I heard there are 2,400 left. At four per day, we're looking at a few years still before "Mission Accomplished"...FOR REAL!

LOL. :D This makes as much sense as any other "mission" definition from the government. One thing is for sure, Bush is determined to "accomplish the mission", just nobody is sure what the "mission" is.:D

Saddam having outlived his usefulness and being noncompliant with the administration's wishes for perpetual petrodollar dominance became a liability and thus had to be removed so that oil flow could be controlled and an excuse could be had to funnel more taxpayer money into private coffers (i.e., the coffers of the contractors).

(That's the short version as you requested) ;)

Briant thank, very well put. Its all about money and power for the elitists:)

Guy123 everyone in the middle east knows that saddam was more against terrorists and their ideals then we even were here in america. The bathists
were 1000000% again an islamic state. the people who think that saddam and osama were allies should at least read what the 2 stood for instead of posting ignorantly about this.

Oh really... then how come oil imports haven't increased (from ANYWHERE) over the past 6 years save for standard demand increases?

Our mission in Iraq I believe is to install a secure democracy (heh, what an oxymoron there) - rather, install a MORE secure and free democratic republic.

Things aren't so plain and simple. I don't know technically why that oil imports haven't increased. However I know how that the US is based on gaining profits and power for actions , we won't go there unless theres something in for it for our economy or political gain.

"We"? I never went to war.

"My country" went to war because the Australian government has no backbone and will do whatever is expected of them. George got Little Johnny in a back room somewhere and showed him just how it was "gonna be". The current mission is to get out of there alive and still look cool.

You can kinda tell who's fucking who just by their expressions. Looks like John hasn't quite recovered from his Texan welcome. George looks satisfied though, kinda like a dog that's just been fed.

The war is already 'won'. I expect that fancy banner will end up costing a pretty penny too. Once it's really paid for.

I think the answer is obvious :)

you really think so? I think it's 100% 9/11. It's kinda of response.
