I joined for one reason then left for three months, then I had a coop question and returned. I ended up staying after that
I was participating over at h.r. and I got so tired of the owner's ego and everyone else worshiping her... "lead us, lead us" was the cry over there DP is wonderful becuase there is an almost unlimited discourse on most anything although it has gotten a little nasty around here in recent weeks... I'm hoping that goes away..... otherwise DP is the greatest webmaster/seo forum out there.
Hahahahaha! I joined because I was bored & Cherry told me to. We thought we would annoy you guys for a little while. Minstrel was mean to me. I left before I said horrible things and started a cyber WW3. I said to Chez.. ''God, why are we here? they are a big bunch of middle age nerds on cyber power trips!'' But she liked it, so I came here to talk to her. Now she's buggered off and I feel like DP is my second home and I love most of you. Wierd how things change.
I first signed up because I couldn't get the co-op to work on my site. (I still can't get it to work on that site, but I know why now at least ) Then I came back because I wanted to sell some links, as I worked to my 25 posts to post in the selling forum I think I became addicted
And we're glad you stayed...most of us that is. I thought you saw naked chicks last night? You want more?!
You missed the "To aimlessly post with an advertisment in my signature" option on the poll so i couldn't vote
I too used to 'hang out' at seochat until it got full of ads, saw a link to the DP forum somewhere and joined up.
I joined because I had seo related questions. In the past I had been using jimworld's forums which I guess are searchengineforums now or something along those lines. I learned a lot there, but when he passed on the site began to go down hill. I took a break for awhile then came back and found DP. I stayed because the site was using vBulletin which I love compared to all the other free pieces of forum software. All the other SEO forums seem to be spammy with lots of ads and other junk. Good thing Shawn makes a boatload with his products and affiliate sales, otherwise we'd be subject to ads
I agree...I find most web forums to be stuffy. I'll post and read when I need help with something (very infrequently) and then try to make a couple helpful posts in return, but for the most part I get tired of the big debates (or the lectures, or everyone talking about all the 'white papers' they read this week). If you got off on that, that's cool...but it's not my thing.
I joined because I had SEO questions, but I was already familiar with Shawn and his tools. Before SEO I was in the ISP world using OptiGold... it's amazing the Shawn has time to do anything with the emails that go on in that member group. Anyway after I learned that Shawn had done some SEO tools I figured this was the place to be since Optigold was very impressive.
