Why are uk.search.yahoo.com results so different?

Why are country specific results so dramatically different? I could not believe that my website ranked number two for my most important keyword on the UK version of yahoo. The Canadian version of course is just like the US version. It seems like the algorithm is almost like MSNs because I rank number one there too. It is also strange because I am a US dealer and do not favor the UK over other regions Any ideas as to why?

I think it depends on the links you have from .co.uk websites. So if your weight from .co.uk websites is higher than that of your other competitors' websites, you will rank higher on the .co.uk search engine. Whereas, most sites have .com links and so they rank higher in the SERPs on yahoo.com. It's the same with google.com and google.co.uk

I'm noticing this too. I'm number three on uk.search.yahoo.com but not even in the top 1000 on the regular yahoo search. My site is only a month old though. Is this normal? Is there a good website for comparing SERPs across the different Yahoos?

It also depends on from what country your are browsing... it could be due to you browsing from Canada that your site was perfoming so well, not a fact you get the same SERPs in UK

Are you sure the country from which you are browsing really matters?

Country matters. In country specific, country sites gets more priority than international sites.
