why are Twitter pages getting such high PR so easily?

I see alot of pr6's, and twitter pages I set up and didn't have time to post anything on or just a post or two are sitting at PR4.... what is google doing with that?

I realize the links out will be nofollow so the pr is kind of useless,

but why is google giving so much love to twitter when real good sites that we as webmasters work hard on hardly get any love and have to work so hard to get any pr at all?

cuz google always jump on the hot bandwagon. they are followers and will copy whatever is hot out there. also they will be buying twitter soon. they are the new microsoft. buying up all the competitors and monopolizing the industry.

traffic got something to do with this I guess. Plus the way twitter setup is very simple and easy for bots to crawl.

Google also risks nothing by giving these pages high PR because the URL people can add to their profile is nofollowed, and the urls people post in tweets are all nofollowed.

no, almost no links at all, it must be getting pr directly from twitter itself

PR is just spilling down from the homepage. Just like Digg profiles and youtube profiles. all are nofollow as well.

you must remember that internal linking still creates and distributes PR. every time you tweet you are creating a link back to your page. Every time someone @ replies to you its a link to your page. Every time someone follows you its a link to your page. The more followers and tweets you have the higher you rank. Check yahoos siteexplorer to see what I mean. Also some people have twitter feeds on thier high PR blogs. if some @ replies to you and that link shows up on that twitter feed on thier blog while a bot happens to be crawling the page, you get a huge boost.

How do I check the page rank of my twitter page? I'm using google toolbar and the PR across twitter seems to be the same everywhere I go.

    Are you sure about that?
    Will Google buy Twitter soon?
I know about Microsoft buying up all the competitors. Some says that
Yahoo and Bing merging soon... I hope it won't happen.
