I have been receiving them telling my account details have been changed and told me to log in to prevent unsuspension from different sources and they getting better and better.I almost fall into it. They use url redirection such as notlong.com or a paypal related domain. They have done a good job in faking paypal emails,it look so real
Yea people just have way too much time on their hands. If they actually used their knowledge they could develop decent sites instead of making fake phishing sites that look like others. I get those emails all the time. Also banks, ebay, myspace fake pages are showing up everywhere.
They are there because too many people bite, allowing the thieves to steal their money. It's like any other type of spam, if people did not respond to it then it would go away. gene
If you have the energy, just forward them to . I don't know if it helps the detectives, but it might, so I do it.
The bad point is that they can hack a server and put the paypal clone site to that server. That happened to me ~1-2 year ago. It was my personal computer on my university and we sent the logs to FBI. I guess if you can report them, the detectives can fight better but there should be some international law problems there (I dont think they can not be detected.)..
Sounds horrfying.I have been using paypal for only around 1½ year.Is it a wise decision to withdraw most of the money to the bank account and left around $100USD inside?
Same trend is going on with the emails claiming that they have millions of $'s in the bank which they cannot withdraw because of some reason and want your help to withdraw the amount with 30-50% commision. I wonder what the thought about people? (fools like themselves?)
hooooo friend yesterday i recieved 3 emails telling me about the purchase i mad by paypal of $ 45 . look at the pictures . I have posted on my blog . http://digitalmail.blogspot.com
Yeah I get quite a few of these emails, they drive me mad. I always report them to ebay and paypal. I figure if it stops just one person getting scammed it's worth my time to report them all. Lately I've even been getting them from bank of america telling me to update my account details. Funny thing is I live in the UK and have never had a BOA account lol
newbies gotta learn by hard experiences...once they get deceived, they'd never fall for these scam emails anymore.
