Let's say I make a blog post with 3 links to different pages on my site. 1 gets listed with Google, and the other 2 are ignored. The same goes for other sites, many of the links are just ignored. I am not talking about nofollow sites. These are dofollow links. Why does Google ignore certain links?
Google is counting themas backlinks but rate them as low value. Those backlinks may have weight value in the future.
That's bizarre. So even if the links are in the same blog post, some of them are considered low value?
I have this same problem. Google just seems to index what it likes. However there must be a reason, Google can't just behave like this and be number one. So I will continue investigating. I had been putting it down to some duplicate content I had but found this wasn't the case. Im a bit baffled really. Any help would be welcome.
Google reserves the right for the number of pages to be indexed in its database and it varies depending on the site and its content. To facilitate your indexing, make sure all the pages are google friendly. More info at google webmaster tools guidelines
I am not sure, but I think google only consider or counts the links that are placed on pages that are being indexed by google. So if google isn't counting all links, check if the pages where your links are, are indexed or not.
If there links all point to the same general site, they all shouldn't have an equally high link value. It's pretty clear that whatever the content of the site your linking to is, it is relevant to the post you created.
