Why are social bookmarking services not allowed here?

    Hi All,

I never really got into the social bookmarking thing before, but why is it that threads advertising it as a service are not allowed on DP?

    Thanks,

Probably they decided to put an end to all unethical, spam ways. It's nothing but spamming doing bookmarking other people's sites for a price.

I thought it was a great team building thing to do.

I Stumble you you Stumble me or just give away free Stumbles.

yes, it would be a fair give and take, but what if you have written a great article that deserves a stumble or a digg, and the person you make the deal with has nothing but a spammy advertisement... doesnt really even out. and its actually against the social bookmarking sites TOS.... there are sites that have tried this, subvert and profit is one that comes to mind, but if you look at the name itself, doesnt seem too ethical.

Sounds like the breach or their TOS is probably the reason then, perhaps there could be some comback on DP if they allowed people to trade bookmarks. Although that being said I don't think Shawn is to worried about the occasional lawsuit :D
