Hi all, just like the subject says... usually a site sells for 10-12 times the monthly revenue, but proxies can sell for a 3 months revenue... I was wondering if they were completely legal: am I running any legal risk by running a proxy site hosted at GoDaddy.com? Am I responsible for my users' actions in any way? thanks
Yes, proxies are legal. You are not responsible for the actions of your users, but you have to cooperate with the authorities should they ever do something illegal. The issue with them is they use up a huge amount of bandwidth, which makes it difficult to make any money off it. Many hosting providers say they do not allow proxy sites in their TOS. Proxy sites are also incredibly easy to make, which is why the sites sell for so cheap.
