Why Are People So Concerned With Pr?

I keep reading that pr isn't important for ranking purposes, yet i always see people promoting their sites through pr. Does that mean pr IS important?

 

Pagerank is just Google's automated way of determining whether your site is more or less likely (directly proportional to your PR) to contain valuable information. Other factors are obviously measured in, such as keywords, SPAM filtering, etc.

In short, if you think SEO is important, PR is essential.

 

Always a debatable topic, it's great if you have it - and if you do have a high PR then you value it more, if you don't have PR then you are more likely to dismiss it ....

I believe PR plays importance in search engine ranking, the higher the PR the more frequent are the bot visits and your new posts are usually ranked higher in SEs than those that have little .... again though - the amount you post daily also has influence on bot visits and frequency.

It's no fluke that the good sites have a high PR ....

 

It's one of the least important metrics, it's made public so idiots get all hung up on improving it rather than focusing on what's really important.

You don't need to be knowledgeable in either field to get traffic .... sure it can help .... but it's not necessary if you know how to find popular and long search terms ....

yes' it's fairly important, but i dont think nobody should get drown into the whole PR thing

when u have a high PR, u r likely to drive more traffic, meaning more sales conversion, however, when you mix up more techniques and sometimes it's out of google's patience. it's more likely you wasted your efforts.. for examples, for those SEOs who submitted a backlink on directories past 5 years are now probably feeling it was waste of time and efforts.

so, be fair and square, be informative and dedicated, you will definitely get the visitors anyway..

 

Unless of course if you want to get involved in the links selling business.

 

PR is important, no matter what people say.

 

Well, my friend who is successful in getting #1 SERP google for competitive keyword "weight loss pills" say he doesn't care about PR. Believe it or not, he is number 1 SERP for that keyword yet his PR is 0. Just search "weight loss pills" in at google and you will see his site (bestpills4weightloss.com) is in number 1. If you check the PR, guess what, It is zero

 

PR is important to some because they can sell their links for big bucks. It's good business.

 

I will make more money if my PR is higher than current PR. Because most of advertiser consider in high PR. Thats all in my case.

Anyone concerned with PR is probably a newbie online marketer. Once you grow out of the phase, you realize how worthless it is and how much more worthwhile concentrating on more important things are.

 

In my 8 year's experience of building web sites PR has had no noticeable impact on traffic or ranking. In fact the PR has gone down on 2 of my sites and traffic continued to go up (Google's organic traffic).

Personally PR means nothing to me. People use it to sell sites and text links but at the end of the day it's meaningless for the user experience. The average user doesn't know or care what your PR is so it's silly to obsess over that magical number that you have little to no control over.

 

Good PR give you better position IS SERP and this will give you more traffic
