I'm doing an article marketing campaign and I use EZA as my main directory. After the EZA gets indexed, I send out the same article to other do-follow directories such as Article Dashboard, Go Articles, and Idea Marketers. I also submit to Scribd, Blogger, and Wordpress.com blogs. Every one of these has a backlink to my main EZA article, but none of the backlinks are showing up when I check them in the Yahoo Site explorer. Does anyone know why this could be happening? I checked to make sure the articles are indexed and they are.
Ummm most likely your articles are getting dupe`d..don`t be lazy and write unique articles instead of spreading the same ones around...you know what Google calls that..spam.
Thanks for the idiotic response. I'm spreading the articles around for backlinks only. Not to get them indexed and ranked on Google. If you've ever done article marketing you would know this is common and most people do it if they are just going for backlinks. If you've ever written a unique article you know how long it takes. Now multiply that by how many directories and Web 2.0 sites that you need to submit it to and it would take you a full day to just get ONE of your keywords submitted around the entire web written in different articles. Doing it that way and I'll never get anywhere with the article marketing.
That's what I figured at first, but certain backlinks are showing up such as the ones from my signature in this forum. I just wasn't sure if something was stopping the others from coming in for some reason.
I would just give it time and not worry about it. So long as you can did them as crawlable links. Google and yahoo may never show them, but they found them. If in doubt just go to one of the pages that the article is on adn plug it in to google and see if you can view a cached version of it. If so its crawled.
The only thing I can say is to have patience, I guess. Sometimes it does take some time for these SEs to count your new backlinks. Even though your articles are being indexed fast, doesn't necessarily mean it has seen the new backlink for your website. I tell my customers/clients that it will take the search engines at least one month and generally up to 3 months to find and count your new backlinks. And without fail, they start to show up. I would also like to tell you that I do article marketing exactly, well, almost exactly they way you stated above. So, I don't think you need to worry.
Thanks for all the responses everyone. I have noticed my articles are slowly starting to move up in the rankings so I'm guessing that even if the links aren't showing up, they are still being counted. I actually did some further research and a lot of people say that Yahoo Site Explorer never tells you all of the backlinks to your site and it can be way off. I also started using Angela's link-building package after seeing a ton of good reviews on it. I'm hoping it works out like it's supposed to.
I have similar experience. I put Google Alert for some articles, and it picks up the links from article directories. But Google webmaster never shows those links.
