Why are my page load times so slow?

I have a directory website using wordpress, and I spent time this morning uploading lots of listings. It's a nationwide directory of divorce lawyers, so there are a lot of listings. My page load times are TERRIBLE!

I'm not sure if its because I'm using wordpress, if my servers or hosting sucks, or maybe its the premium plugin that I'm using???

I'm trying to figure out why page load times are so slow, and what can I do to improve vastly?

Here's a link to one of my category pages divorceindex.net/attorney/california

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

hey, why dont you analyse your site with page analyzer plugin available in Google Webmaster Tools.... it will analyse and suggested the changes you need to make in-order to improve you load time.

    thanks

You may would like to analyse your php version on hosting server, it is possible that database revert time is poor which is causing slow load speeds

There is a firefox tool named Yslow which will help you to learn your page and which script or particular part of the website makes it load slow will be made available through this tool. Just download it and make most out of them addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/yslow/
