They both have the same keywords. Any ideas as to why this is? The views of each are pretty much the same.
Ezine Articles has more google love. However, you're going to have to keep building backlinks to your EA articles in order for them stay at a high rank.
True, but I cant understand why, I mean Google hates affiliates right? And its mainly affiliates writing all the articles.
Simple, PR7 with better quality. They allow just 2 links in the article and no keyword spamming. They keep things under control and ensure there is quality. Google loves quality content, and thus EZA is preferred better than squidoo. Unfortunately, EZA articles stay at the top for a couple of days and then vanish. After a month they come back, that's the only problem but if you're a bum marketer you should be knowing its worth.
gskesavan said pretty much everything right. EzineArticles staff carefully review all the articles, before they get published. Google likes that, and that's the reason why they give higher rankings to EA, rather than majority of other websites. While Squidoo doesn't really care what people put on their lenses. Of course, they do have some sort of monitoring, but it's not that tough as with EA.
Google loves unique content, and unlike most scraper article directories, EZ only accepts unique content. In addition it's an established site so the articles typically rank well.
if you submit an article on ezine and setup a lens and dont promote either of them, then your ezine article will outrank your lens ALWAYS. the reason being that ezine is just not an article directory, it is a syndication service where lot of other sites use that article linking back to your ezine article. aside form that, ezine promotes the articles submitted internally as well by showing the article on other relevant article pages within ezine which also give your own article lot of backlinks. not to mention the authority EZA has with its PR6 domain. squidoo on the other hand is still good but you need to promote your lens. just a year or so ago, squidoo lens would rank high by itself but it has been abused so much by pharmacy affiliates and other spammers that google had to apply a filter not allowing squidoo any special privilege. if you are building lens for quality backlinks then that fine. but dont expect a lens to rank high by itself without any promotion. specially for competitive terms
yes i totally agree with you, also when your articles get approved in ezine, the link of the article is shown in all other articles of that category under "Recent Articles", that means the recent article gets a lot of links (at least for a few hours) that is enough to rank well in search engine but this is not the case for squidoo, you need to build links in order to rank well.
Yeah, which is why you get the initial boost in the serps but still need to promote the article because you won't get the rankings to stick for the long term by doing nothing.
It also depends how much competition there is for that topic on Squidoo. If there's already multiple lenses about that topic, then beating them in the search results can be tough.
Some sites Google likes more than other sites. EZA happens to be a site that Google likes a lot. Squidoo? Not so much in my experience. I find it much harder to get a Squidoo page to rank than an EZA page. Anyway - the big point is, the reason people put articles on these sites is to take advantage of the Google love that the particular domain has (in comparison with our own domains which may be much much harder to get rankings for) And of course some domains are better than others. For example: EZineArticles.com is good... Hubpages.com is pretty good... Squidoo.com not so good ... GoArticles.com pretty much a waste of time (although I've seen exceptions..)
you can create tons of lens instantly. you are limited to 10 a day but as for ezine, they need to be approved 1st and it has higher authority. Both are good; i have had both of them rank well for me
