Why are most folks obsessed with ezine articles?

I have had problems with EZA since day one. When I was a newbie, I admit I did some things wrong. However, after reading their guidelines over and over I did everything and I mean EVERYTHING they wanted me to do. However, they always seem to find something wrong with my articles.

The thing that gets me is that they will tell me they don't accept articles on a certain subject (even though there are other articles on the subject that get approved after mine and it isn't in their guidelines). They also try to play the "its too promotional" game with me.

I wrote an article about a product review. I tried not to make it promotional, but after all, it was an article about the product review. Others have done it on the same product and have done it after me.

Like one person said, it takes so long to get approved. Then even longer if they find a problem. For all of the time I used to put into it, it is better just to submit to other places that aren't as picky. Even though I no longer submit to EZA, I am not having a problem getting back links.

 

Ezines has the highest PR of any article directory, I think it is PR 6 with Alexa rating is at 130.

 

Jamie, have you found better alternatives than EZA? Would be interesting to know more in detail.
