Why are DPers still using PR to buy and sell links?

    Condsidering the last update was in may/april why are so many DPers still focusing heavily on pr to determine link value when that pr4 could now be a pr0, or vice versa? How many months without an update will it take for people to stop using pr?

    lol, i cant believe i am about to even answer this question....

    Well for starters higher pr sites that link to you will judge how well you do in serps, and well we all know that is the most important thing on the internet. If you get your site linked on a PR6 for your keywords it will boost you a hell of a lot higher than a pr1, you get high in serps for your keyword and you can make money, that simple.

    You give me a PR5 site and i can make 2000$ a month, give me a pr4 i can make a 1000$. Hell give me a pr6 and i can pull in 10k a month.

    PR=money
    Serps=money

    You have way to many posts to even have to ask this question.....

    Agree, we are all in love of pagerank while it got almost nothing to do with our ranking in the SERP's but it's as getting a golden star in the school for our hard optimization works, and it sell what ever you want.

    the point being made here by the op,

    Is that a lot of the links being acquired may have had their status dramatically altered, down or up.

    The visible TBPR is possible up to 5 months obsolete right now,

    So your link from what you think is from a PR7 page, might actually be a link from a,,,

    Pr 0 page

    Ineresting isn't it

    The odds of PR 6 or 7 site dropping to 0 is so low it's not even worth considering. It's much more likely they will stay the same or fluctuate up or down one.

    IMHO it's because "DP'ers" don't have a clue on how to get rankings. They heard it's because of "PR" and that's all they need to know.

    If you look at the Link Sales forum, there are many scams happening because of lack of knowledge.

    You misread my question, first pr does not equal serps as most of my sites are pr0 and yet rank #1 for a ton of competitive keywords.

    Second, the question I was asking was why are DP'ers using pr to buy and sell links when pr is a measure of the "quality" of the link 4 months ago? with pr5+ its unlikely to change much but still.

    Third, I was wondering how long without a pr update would it take for people to stop using pr and check backlinks instead?

    It doesn't matter. If PR doesn't update for a year I would still be loyal to G and buy links all year.

    We won't abandon it unless Google abandons it. Silly question to ask, I guess your main point is how long can you survive without PR change.

    Really it doesn't affect us that bad. I mean if you have a PR3 or less, but if you have PR4 or higher it doesn't matter if it changes you can wait.

    Here we go again. PR= money, but if the delay continues for much longer its value will decrease

    No my main point is that pr is now inaccurate for example, animepodcast.org is a pr4 with 869 links while digitalorder is a pr0 with 3,576 links. both have the same quality of links as well.

    Well you should have stated that in the first post. But anyways it quality over quantity. One site of mine has over 10k backlinks but is PR4 on the other hand blog is PR5 with 3k backlinks because my link building had more quality on that.
