Whenever a arcade site that has traffic is put for sale on digitalpoint people bid alot. Why are arcade sites with traffic worth so much?
Compared to other B2B and content sites that I have seen for sale, arcade sites aren't really valued that much at all.
Arcade sites contains repeated visitors, there will be no loss of traffic and also gaming industry is increasing, moreover it is not easy to design arcade gaming site.
Arcade sites are eady to value and once transferred to a new owner retain their value well. I would argue that arcade sites sell pretty cheap though, if you had the same amount of traffic going to another type of site it would sell for far more (because arcade keywords pay low compared to other niches)
Basically everything anil595 said and then on top of that. Usually there's a younger generation playing the games. Younger people tend to not understand advertising and think that google ads are apart of the website. My brother and many of his friends ended up clicking random ads because they thought that they were apart of the site. I could only imagine my brother and his 7 friends that the site they visited made at least $1.50 from them a day. Personally I would purchase a script and a domain and just make most of it myself and advertise it within my area. With stickers and word of mouth techniques. I'm sure within 3 months I could get 1000-3000 page views a month on average. Purchasing an arcade script is just easy street. Not to mention I know a lot of people are now just hiring paid players, raters, and commenters to boost up the stats.
They are? It's so easy just to buy an arcade script and make your own arcade. Most arcades I've seen don't sell for much. Unless you're talking about the ones with unique templates, coding, and games. Those are the arcades that drive repeat visitors and earn lots of ad money.
@rebel Yeah it helps a lot - Instead of just sellign forum posts, I now am able to sell games played (BTW If anyone wants comments or raters or anything just please send me a pm ) But Arcades have more value if they have games that they privatly own.
Only because people are buying them right now. The payouts for these keywords are some of the lowest possible. Arcade sites are today what proxy sites were a year or so ago, the fad will pass.
It depends from site to site. Every Arcade site does not get that much good value. Since i have joined DP, i have seen a lot of good sites going for dirt cheap price and even i managed to get some.
They are easy to get traffic too generally, but like most sites they require a lot of work to get any money out of them. I have run one for almost a year now, and made a few dollars, but I havn't spent that much time working on it so I havn't got much of a return. It's about what you put into the site, arcade sites don't guarantee success.
