I wonder why Apple's site gets ranked #1 for "laptop" in Google (US). http://www.google.com/search?&hl=en&source=hp&q=laptop&btnG=Google+Search Checked the page source, No "laptop" found on the #1 page http://www.apple.com/macbook/ . even the synonym "notebook" only appear 3 times. I think Dell, HP,etc,. should rank better for they have more users. Tks for Any answers
For me, laptopmag.com and Dell.com outrank Apple for that term. Google uses personalized search now so your results are more tailored to your browsing habits. And actually, in the description it says, "The MacBook laptop features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor...". Generally the backlinks (anchor text) to a webpage plays a larger role for what a specific page will rank for than the on page text.
it is 3rd on my search......, dey don't have number of backlinks for "laptop" but as it is brand in laptop's, macbooks, phones, ipods which are mostly used....even dell, hp too., but google gives preferences to the brands which where widely searched in google..............., for example windows - means "a framework of wood or metal that contains a glass windowpane and is built into a wall or roof to admit light or air"....but for dis keyword MICROSOFT IS RANKING y??...microsoft is brand........google gives preferences to brand in the niche market and also to patent right websites.....
