Why am I sometimes automatically rejected?

    Hi!

I am new with CJ, signed up with CJ yesterday and when I tried to apply, some programs took me instantly, some are pending , and some rejected instantly for "one or more reasons".

How can I know if I am suitable for a program before I apply? I have a problem, I hate being rejected :D

    Thanks

My guess about automatic rejection comes from the difference between the category of your website and the category of the program you are applying to. If your business is indicated as related to travels and you apply for computer hardware, they might reject you automatically. Probably some companies do not want to lose their time with unrelated businesses.

Country may be a factor too. Advertisers may have opted for affiliates from certain countries only..

But is there way to know before I apply?

oh. Damn. My site is online trivia in my signature. It is in "gaming" (not gambling) but the visitors are educated men&women 30+. So "education" rejects me. And all the things for my real audience... only stupid teenager ringtone sites approve me.... I need to change the category.
    Thanks.

Thats because of the country factor.
Try to contact aff manager email given when you open up particular aff program.

CJ has a feature for merchants that automatically declines applications by location. So if a US merchant has put their setting to deny all affiliates outside the US then you would be lumped in and auto-rejected without anyone actually looking at your sites. I'm not saying this is the answer but it could be the reason why you are getting rejected so often.

Thanks guys for the tips. I made a nice txt file with a request, mailed it to all of the auto-rejected programs, and received invitations from almost all of them :)

Glad to hear it. Sometimes you just have to email them. When I was stationed in Germany I had a US Postal Service billing address (Army Post Office, Armed Forces Europe were the city and state) and a German IP address. So when I was ordering some things from certain places I would get automatically rejected for fraud. So I would just start emailing places before placing the order.

I have been turned down for programs with Linkshare and was ok'd with CJ for the exact same program.
Not many do that, but I found it to work for me.

I have read that many people just go down the list and start applying without thinking that if someone has a website for poker is asking lobstergram to become an affiliate! Not going to happen.

Some of the earlier programs I was turned down for I just emailed them and they approved it.

So wait for 15-30 days and reapply.

    Hope that helps.
