Why am I only getting public service ads on my front page?

I have a website with thousands of pages of content and nearly every page of the site brings up decent Adwords ads - except the front page!

    http://www.doyouremember.co.uk

I have been concerned about my front page for a while now because although I have a PR 4 on some of my content pages my front page PR is 0.

This is really confusing me since nearly all my backlinks point to the front page of the site.

Anyone got any ideas whats going on?

    Looks good to me...

No PSA ads... All about 80's TV and "toy Obsessed".

RE the PR0 on the front page, Wait till the next update.

It's probabally just a fluke in the google algo.

I think I'm relying on this forum too much for help. I only just put the adsense ad on the front page a few minutes ago and as soon as I saw the public service ads I headed over here to ask for help.

Looks like adsense takes a few minutes to get 'warmed up' cos by the time I'd finished writing the post the public service ads were gone!

Not entirely a waste of time though cos it got SEBasic promoted to Tauren!

Re the PR0 thing - it has been on PR0 forever (6 months) so I'm not confident the next update will fix it. ANy other ideas?

Having looked a little closer, it may be that the page is being penalised.

You have multiple keyword/description tags in there...

    Code (markup):
Do you know how long they might have been there?

    I'd take them out ASAP.

Multiple meta's and titles was a really old SE spamming technique, that I imagine would be frowned upon still.

Wow - I never noticed I had them there! My meta content is dynamically generated wth ASP so I never really notice it when I'm looking at the working code...

I'll get rid of that straight away.

Do you reckon that will have penalised the site then? Interestingly all the pages on my site have the same problem with the double meta tags but some of them have a PR 4.

I really don't know for sure.

I can't think of any other rational explantion for the PR0 other than that.

Does seem strange that the other pages are PR4 though...

Either way, I'd get rid of that, and keep fingers crossed that that was the problem.

We'll see next update I guess.

I used to frequent a lot of search engine related forums. But, I used to hate the large number of recreational flamers. The story was always the same. Any SEO query would immediately get slammed as being SPAM and then all the self serving SEOs would say their usual slogan related to User Comes First, Conten is King, Have Good Content Ranking Will Follow.

Now that is all good advice, no doubt. But, on the whole I found most forums getting very unfriendly, flame-friendly, and new-user-unfriendly.

But, I really like these forums. So, for all those who are making it so, Thanks. :)

    Yep - it's a great forum alright!

Anyway, I deleted the dupe meta tags so I'll have to sit back and wait for the next update. Wonder when that'll be...?

    Remember,

As SEbasic said it's not bad. I suggest you take advantage of the "google_alternate_ad_url". Put a pic or place your own ad. I tried a transparent gif but it doesn't work, I don't know why.
