I run a network of about 20 Web sites. Most of the sites are 6 - 24 months old and overall average about $0.75 per click. That changed all of a sudden about three weeks ago for my three largest sites, which have been averaging $2+ clicks on a daily basis. Yesterday I had an $8 click! I've seen $2 clicks on these sites in the past, but they were very rare events. I have been tinkering here and there, but no significant changes to the sites themselves recently. Of course, now I'm afraid to change anything too! What are your theories?
You have a good niche. Perhaps the niche your in is at a high season now? I really dont know without knowing what words you're targeting.
haha, exactly. I wouldn't question it either - but chances are there has just been an increase in the competition for your keywords, so the bids went up..
That is fantastic. You should be extremely grateful. I doubt it will last. However, your normal cpc at .75 cents is extremely high, anyway. I can't believe some people average close to $1 per click.
I think that we will need to see the site that is getting the 8 dollar clicks in order to answer your question. Of course there will be 200 clone sites overnight but at least your question will be answered.
Thanks everyone! I'm not complaining for luck, though am quite familiar with the concept ("Poo Poo Poo!" as my Mother would say). More interested in thoughts on how to 1) Not break it, and 2) Grow. The two sites that are really on fire are on loans and debt topics. However, I'm seeing nice bumps on a real estate and travel site, too. Still have some huge dogs (why no love for my timeshare site?) as well. Could this just be a big bump in advertiser spending or has my smart pricing mojo suddenly changed?
Sometimes clicks in the morning will pay more becuase as the day goes along people's budgets are exhausted. I wish I could get some 8 dollar clicks. I had a couple of sites that where doing wreally well with a lot of 2+ clciks, but lately they have went to pennies per click. guess its time to move on and do something else. Bruce
do you have a google search bar on your site. If you do, you get a lot per click when someone searches for something and then clicks on a sponsored result. Like 4-10 times an average conten ad click. Do you know if that's where the click claim from? Congrats on the $8 click though, job well done.
