Why am I barely making anything off of AdSense?

I have an arcade site which I run Adsense ads on and here are the stats for today:

    Page impressions: 768
    Clicks: 61
    Page CTR: 7.94%
    Page eCPM: $1.72

    Total Earnings for Today: $1.32

Why are the earnings so awful?

I believe that would be the reason. Arcade sites pay horribly.

Your CTR is pretty good for your page. People are clicking but the ads that are showing aren't paying much.

Take a look at your title tag to see if you can optimize the page a little bit better to get different ads.

I would look at the ads that are showing and see if there are any ads that you don't like or any that are off-topic (you might consider blocking them). There are things you can do to get different ads to show and that might help.

giraph is right, though, as your page's topic isn't necessarily one that brings top-paying ads. So, you could work on getting more traffic to the page or you could try to get higher paying ads: either by changing the advertisers or changing the content of your page.

So should I block ads that are not related to games?

I blocked ebay.com, but their ads still show up on my site

The keywords typically displayed on arcade sites are of a very low payout. Hence, the reason why you're getting something so low. You have a great CTR, by the way.

Are there any ad services that are better than AdSense for arcade sites? Or do they all usually pay out the same?

I think your eCPM is still quite good, especially for an arcade site. Your main goal should be increasing the number of visitors, then it'll be allright.

Yep, people are clicking well, but the arcade sites ads don't pay so well. So, why don't you try an ad that does pay well, like FriendFinder or something.

I hope this doesn't count as comment spam (just trying to help!!) but here's the link:

    FriendFinder Webmaster Program

good luck! and let me know if it improves your earnings!

Arcade sites pay horribly and also the CTR is generally low, especially now that deception has been outlawed by Google.

Daamn....I love when people make conclusions without any reasonable grounds.

Arcade sites Do pay good money. I have several free sites and to tell you the truth, my arcade site is one of the most lucrative among them.

There are several factors which determine whether a site is paying good money or not. And an average cost per click is not the most important thing.

Its cpm in relation to the traffic volume iwhich it receives which is important imo. Also an important thing is the potential which the site has ..or a.k. the traffic as a whole in the same market segment.

Games sites are visitted by an enormous amount of people due to the fact that they are not a focused niche...its just an entertainment site...suitable for almost everyone.

So my conclusion : Lots of traffic + $1.5 cpm (for example) = a very well paying site with high potential.......which outweighs the majority of the niche sites...which trigger $5 per click.
