can somebody explain me why Alivedirectory - wich has links almost everywere - has Page rank of 6 while Excellent Guide wich is almost new has a page rank of 7. Is Alive directory doing something wrong? I would like to know so I don't do the same error. thanks for your help
I would assume it will go back to a PR7 on the next update. Google keeps us walking on egg shells. Google you suck.
Buddy --only Google can answer this. But if you are so anxious about knowing the fact --lemme tell ya that --its not only Alive which lost 1PR. Google had a MASS DEMOTION of most websites --why even DP got demotted to PR6 from 7. I was expecting my DP profile would give me a solid PR3 -backlink --but it srayed the same 2
There's a definite PR jump for new(er) sites then a settle-back in PR -- older sites find maintaining a high PR more difficult than new sites gaining it ... weird and not currently explained but a trend that need further analysis ....
I don't believe its because of what Chris has done in his promotion campaign for alivedirectory. I believe it's because of the backlinks. Probably some websites where he got his backlinks from dropped PR. Naturally, his directory can lose PR then. Considering his aggressive promotion, he can recover its PR in the next update. It's because he never stops getting new links, so that his PR is not depending on "already purchased links".
Alive is one of the best best and most promoted directory. It has tons of high PR links supporting it. But, it is big G who decides.
What is Alive doing wrong? absolutely nothing .... Why did a few get PR7 .... blind luck or they bought high PR links just in time. and thiers you answers as far as i can see ohhhhh the ERROR is all googles thx malcolm
watching what i consider to be peered sites drop, while dump went up during this massive deduction is giving me some good confidence for the future. :evil grin: I think this is just temporary and alive will bounce back to possibly an 8
i believe, alive will get PR8 on next update. i was kinda wondering why it got back to PR6, but hey you never know google. thats the way they are, lol but probably next update we r going to see big PR.
just check its backlinks I didn't go through all but found one with PR9. It may have more than one PR9 backlink. If G lets pass PR points, it could get PR8 in the next update, but I was wondering if that backlink was new one after the last update.
That is a very bad assumption. 1. DMOZ is not owned by Google 2. Google dropped DMOZs pagerank by 1 also
