I know some reasons myself, I just want to get why all of you use it... - Do you use it with or instead of PayPal? - WHY would you implement it when it it has a $49 startup fee and higher fees per transaction than PayPal? (I think it's like 2.5% + $0.15 more...)
I had problems with Paypal and moved on to 2checkout. I like them and find their system to be much more reliable. Their dispute system is also better. $49 doesn't really mean anything as it's a one time fee.
2Checkout is more apt for virtual products while Paypal is good as a payment processor for online auction such as eBay where physical goods are shipped. Based on my experience, there are more buying public which pays through credit card and 2checkout offers a straightforward method of paying. Paypal may require you to sign up as a member, get the account verified to use it. Also with Paypal, only about members from about 40+ countries can receive payments through paypal, less if you consider those which can receive money into bank accounts in their countries. 2Checkout is pretty much opened up to almost anyone is any of the 200 odd countries who can receive payments. If you deal with businesses and professional buyers, they would prefer 2checkout or basically direct credit card purchases.
I have never offered more than 1 form of payment... So, it would make sense to continue offering PayPal alongside 2checkout?
Well, personally when I offered Paypal as a payment options for about 6 months last year, I did not see any real increase in sales but I did encounter a higher occurrences of frauds and problems and when I terminated Paypal as an option, I did not experience any drop in overall sales. Majority of my sales are through credit card payments. Life is less stressful now without Paypal. IMHO, if you do not offer credit card as a payment option you will most likely lose out on corporate and business customers. Of course if you are targetting just Digital Point and home users, paypal may not be too bad of an option but it not cost you a lot more to offer 2checkout.
You cant use paypal specially if your located in a country that paypal does not have their services, and this is a common issue for both buyers and sellers. But i think paypal now support most of the countries, But still they does not support all the countries and regions when it comes to sellers i mean some sellers cannot accept payment via paypal coz their countries doesn't supported by paypal But in the other hand, 2co is a global payment processor and it works fine with all major credit cards, and its easy. And in buyers point of view you really don't have to become a 2co member in order to make a payment like in pay pal. So its just easy as click of a button and trouble free and saves time.
i have both. But i like 2checkout they provide wire transfer because of which i get my money in 3 days.
2checkout is more convenient to clients. Many clients do not like Paypal, this is fact. - 2checkout has a very solid anti fraud system, they call to verify transactions. - 2checkout also moves towards the customers and decreases the processing fee in the long term. - 2checkout works with countries left by Paypal. - 2checkout doesn’t close youк account with all money on it for half a year to clarify all the circumstances. Paypal did it twice.
Its because not everyone has paypal. I don't have paypal. I know how hard it is not to have paypal. That's why I choose to go with a credit card payment gateway as 2checkout.
I was looking over their policy, and unless I misread, it looks like they charge you a minimum of $11 for each chargeback dispute...?
I have 2checkout because i live in a country not supported by paypal. There are many out there who have been scammed/ not had good experiences with paypal. This is probably the reason many opt for 2checkout.
Well, actually I read in their FAQ http://www.2checkout.com/community/?cat=22 that starting from 2006, 2checkout will absorb all fees levied by the bank when there is a chargeback due to fraud. But they may levy a fee if you are really in the wrong when you either do not deliver or deliver a product not as advertised. In the same note, it states that chargeback only represents less than 1% of transactions. Their system should be able to throw off a majority of frauds and fake/stolen credit cards before the transaction is sent for bank approval.
I just found out that 2checkout now offers the Payoneer Master Debit Card as an option to withdraw funds from. This can be used to withdraw your funds from any ATM Machine which is neat.
Paypal has a debit card though which can do the same thing. Are you not eligible for one? Personally I don't think a legitimate business should have Paypal as their main payment processor. I could see using them as one of a few options but not as the main one.
If I use PayPal and 2checkout together, isn't anyone who pays with a stolen CC or something going to choose to use PayPal? Doesn't really seem like there is much of an advantage in offering 2checkout AND PayPal?
