W - What H - HOW W - WHY ? Directory submission ? (WHW) What is Directory Submission ? Directory submission is simply submitting to directories which have categories. Your website URL alongwith other details are submitted using directory submit form to the directories in appropriate categories. After the directory owner reviews your directory, He may approve or disapprove your URL based on his choice. Usually he will check whether you followed directory submission GUIDELINES, That's all . All your queries whether your URL is reject or approved can be answered by reading DIRECTORY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES posted on that directory. All Major good directory owners have posted guidelines, which you should read before submitting. Once you submit the details to FREE Directory you will have to wait for directory owner to review and then approve/reject the same. PAID Directory submissions are generally approved all the times How is it Done ? Mostly all directories PAID or FREE ask you to submit your website URL along with following details 1. URL 2. Title of website 3. Keywords 4. Description 5. Email id 6. Category And Anchor text if asked for Usually many directories take title as anchor text while back linking to your website. Very few ask to submit anchor text separately When you press submit button . You will get a confirmation email from directory automatically that your submission is received. Now this is not true for all the directories. Some of them do send the confirmation some of them don't. Now after your submission is over if its FREE the directory owner will take time to review as he has huge number of free submission , So your website will be in QUEUE until your turn comes and then once he approves it you will receive a back link from that directory. Usually approval time varies from 3days to 3months. Many a times owners mentions the same in the Submit form, How many days or months approval will require. In case of PAID Submission its between 2hrs to 2days of time for approval. After approval Some directories send an email for APPROVAL. Some dont send it as it depends on directory owner . Why is it Done ? Answer is simple : to get a backlink to your website, How does it help ? It helps to increase your Page rank . Page Rank is given by google and is measured by number of backlinks pointing to your website. More weightage is given to ONE WAY links which means you get backlink but you dont provide link back to them which is often called reciprocal links So advantage of directory is you get ONE WAY Back link for FREE , What else you need ? If you need more then I can tell more is that your website is placed into a CATEGORY Which is nothing but a page where similar websites are placed so the link is coming from a theme based page. What else you need ? If you need more then I can tell more is that you get a ANCHOR TEXT Link which you filled in submission while submitting .... WHAT ELSE YOU NEED FREE ONE WAY LINK THEME BASED Thanks,
No offence to you, theres nothing wrong with what you have posted, other than its not neccessary, there are sticky posts and the threads themselves here should tell people that already.
exactly pipes it reads so badly its like spam actually my personal favourite is "When you press submit using SUBMIT button" could you break that down a little better for us maybe?
Thanks pipes, I am recently trying to be active on this forum infact since yesterday, So good for pointing out the same . For the same reason I made a POLL and I think I will take if forward from here and make a note of the same basically needed or not needed . Anyways really thanks for your comments and I will follow up , But I myself after spending 4 or 5 hours especially on this sub forum "Directories" frustrated to see people asking same question so thought to compile everything to one thread to explain hoping it helps others but if its not making sense as there is already something based on people's opinion which i respect then in future i will not be acting as i said earlier i am active here since yesterday only so unaware of what's there in already
