hi what is best way to optimize website with respect to domain name. Is it Ok to submit website for getting backlinks with abcd.com or should it be www. abcd. com If i type www. abcd. com in address bar of browser it ultimately get resloved to abcd.com..hence the whole confusion in terms of getting backlinks Pls advice
Your preference, if you register with google webmaster tools you can select how you want it to be. Make sure to choose one or the other as when your checking for backlinks you'll get different results.

Choose a www or non-www you think its best. Lets say if the domain name has >3 syllables then I recommend the 2nd option. Google and its Pagerank treat www and non-w differently. Its very often to see a www has PR5 and the other PR4 for example. So use a 301 redirect to your prefered. How to use 301, I think more threads explaining here and there.
