When Google updates their search results database and you seem some fluctuation in Google result for few days, it calls Google Dance.

 

It also usually happens when you are building links. It a signs that they are making some sort of impact (can be good or bad)

According to me In Google updating process, Google data centers update the website pr one by one, when we check pr then it shows old pr sometimes and sometimes new pr, it calls Google dance.
