Whre Do You Guys Collocate Servers ?

    I Am interested in a pace where i can collocate servers.. Do i have to buy and send them the server ? or can we pay them and buy it for us ?


    Please let me know if you provide collocate service and how much the costs come up to

    Depends what kind of hardware you need and where you want to colocate it. 1U servers start around 2000$ for something decent, not to mention colo cost

    you are wrong 1U Server cost would be under 1000 usd

    i have recently purchased one server and collocating it in Chicago gigenet data center

    and that's what the price i paid for server

    1 Intel Xeon X3320 CPU
    1 Supermicro X7SBi Mainboard
    2 2GB DDR2-800 DIMM RAM
    1 500GB SATA2 HDD 16M Cache
    1 Supermicro SC811T-260B Chassis
    1 Supermicro P0016 Passive HS

    $1085 per unit + shipping


    and always buy good hardwares ;)

    Depending on how many U's you rent, if you're just renting 1-4 the standard rate is around $100/U including power, then add your bandwidth cost.

    Some companies will build the servers for you if you ship them the parts, but that gets messy if one of them doesn't boot up and then having to troubleshoot which part was DOA.

    I'd say most datacenters prefer to rent their servers to you to keep parts standardized, garuentee uptime, etc... and I'm sure if you're renting 3+ servers from a datacenter they will give you a deal as well.
