Why is it that I cannot get listed in the Google SERP’s for the best keywords? I don’t mean that I am not placing well. I mean that my site is not listed at all on 70 pages of results. My site, aneurysmsupport.com will not appear in any results for Aneurysm or Aneurysms. Search just about anything else. Ruptured brain aneurysm, aneurysm support, etc and the site appears, some on the first page but there terms are not search near as much as aneurysm and aneurysms. Why is this? Whose butt do I have to kiss to get listed for these terms? Anyone have a clue why this is happening and any suggestions on what I can do to change it? Thanks.
You need to steadily build some good backlinks to the site. You can't just expect to rank well for a single keyword straight off the bat. Now that you're ranking for slightly longer phrases you can start to focus on the single keywords which are more competitive. But this takes time and is all about getting a good amount of links pointing to your site with the desired anchor text.
You have to remember that on the best keywords there are many many people competing. So it takes a lot even to crack the top 100 sometimes.
You won't get ranked for aneurysm or aneurysms because... you have only 66 backlinks, you are not an authority, you don't have an on-target domain name, and the competition is insane, Your best bet is to stick with the long-tail keywords.
I have been building links, but what I find odd is that the site is not listed at all in the SERP's for those terms. Not in all 70 pages of returnes. Old , almost abandoned sites, are listed as well as sites with very little content, but not mine. I don't expect to be on page one overnight but not to be listed at all for those terms seems odd.
Make sure that some of the backlinks you build have just 'aneurysm' in the anchor text. That should be enough to get you in the first 50 pages or so.
This is because you are targeting one word key phrase. This is extremely difficult to achieve. The fact that you are appearing for longer tail keywords like 'ruptured aneurysm support' means your site is indexed and considered worthy of ranking for this phrase, it is only matter of time before which you are likely to get page 3-4 ranking for the one word keyphrase also which you are after.
