I am looking at different ways to advertise with Google. Are video ads a good option?

You can advertise with google video. But depend on how you run your campaign, people might like your ads, or they hate your ads and also hate your brand. Personally, contextual links, or pop under links on youtube videos are fine with me. But I hate those ads that start at the beginning of the video. We go online to watch videos for a reason.

Oh. Are video ads the ones they play before youtube videos. I thought they might be shown on the side of search like the text ads.

Guess if the ads are personal and on the topic the might still work.

You have the option to display videos on the side as well. Since Google has so many outlets for their media ads. I just don't know how much money you would have to pay to do that. It's cheaper to do the link text ads on Youtube. Or even if you have enough money to buy ad space to display your video, you will have to post a very interesting video that will drawn viewers attention. Otherwise it's not going to work for you. You can think of those as contextual ads. Ultimately, you are interrupting someone from whatever him or her is doing at the time.
