Who's using and keeping your english sounding .be's?

A while ago they freed up the .be domain space. Heaps of people hoarded in off course and picked up what they could.

I happened to get some pretty nice one word dictionary domains, but im wondering If I should renew them.

Anybody out there renewing there using and renewing .be's?

Aren't they quite expensive to renew?

I have never really understood why people would use domain extenions from countries which weren't relevant to them.

Being from the UK, I only really look at .com .co.uk and .eu domains as they are relevant to me. I would also look at .tv I suppose if I was doing a tv site.

But why would .be be useful?

Being Belgian is a reason, having a Belgian-related website, or expecting Belgian audience as well.

Other suggested reasons were having a domain such as letit.be gonna.be, thiswill.be, etc.

No, you don't have to be a Belgian citizen.

Since I cannot post the direct link here, do a search on Google for "register .be" , click the first site and click the "More than 100 international extensions" , there you will see:

    (Country) (Extension) (Local Requirements)
    Belgium .be None

I don't promote anything, I've just edited this post since I was warned to don't write any links in my post.

I don't see a real huge future for english words .be's
I think its great for the market in Belgium
but, they will never become a huge ccTLD. like .nl or .co.uk or .de

and those will never come close to the TLS's like .com, .net, .org, .info IMO
