Thanks for the comment, All these sites tha tI mentioned above are quite old about 3, 1/2 years old to 2, 1/2 year old. They all got penalized, non of the pages have any PR, I remember those days when almost all subpages had good PR some even had pr4, 5. I really need to understand what google going to do about site that are penalized for linking their own websites? how do they identify it? Obviously I want to link my own site from my another website to get some ranking, that is allowed is'nt it? most site's do that? What happens some one reports mistakenly/intentionally about my site's and Google going by the report penalizes the site when the site is not doing anything wrong, there are lot of questions to be asked, and without answering these questions google has just gone ahead with its new algo, to punish websites, there new algo is nothing but few Indian's hired to browse internet and note down the websites, based on some criteria and then manually penalize it.
LOL...sorry, but I have felt your pain . Try using the no follow tag when cross linking from site to site. I still think many of us (self included) need to take a good look at your site(s) and look for many other possibilities. There is no doubt that Google and other ses are cranking the call for high quality up. If you're not a blackhatter then your site has likely not been manually banned. It is more likely you are caught up the tight quality standards of algos and need to tip toe through all your sites and tune them up. Here's a simple breakdown of what to look for. H
<- goes and buys 500 links pointing to google.com and than reports them! opps looks like they will have to ban themself:/ anyway back on topic there is no way for them to track smart link buying. If you buy 100 links all with same anchor text and none pointing to innernal pages. your going to have higher chance of getting banned.
How do you know there is a high chance of getting "banned". I've seen no solid proof of any site being banned when caught buying links.
Just though I'd mention I also had a company that has a turnover 10x greater than Google buy a link on my site.
Do you have a Google sitemaps account? Look on the right side That's pretty good evidence that Google is hunting you down . I call it the Matt Cutt's Rat patrol It also suggests to me that they have a hard time determining it through algos. H
I had just 1 paid posts (including link backs). Since the latest PR update, my blog has dropped 1 rank. These 2 factors could be completely unrelated as there was perhaps a little inactivity spell in between but I have my suspicions.
But then we might be back to a genuine internet , connected simply by links that aren't "gamed" to get more value than the other guy's links get.
Yeah, like google devotes its days to hunting down users and sellers of links... Ditto. I still think there is just something in the algo that Google sees with certain sites that has nothing to do with where the links are coming from, but more to do with how the algo reacts with the HTML in the site.
Hey Jeremy; You may be right with your assumption. I left a comment on your blog about proof of Google banning sites for this. I don't want to open a new can of worms here but this comment speaks volumes in terms of a Google perspective. Buying votes= bogus, getting votes= the right way Buying text link advertising= Is OK but should have the "nofollow" tag to be safe. Otherwise you are leaving yourself opened to Google's interpretation. H
We all know they are looking for links - but I was asking about evidence of people being banned which so many people are stating but not backing up.
That's because there is no clear definition of banned? Banned=deindexed, banned= from serps, banned =penalty, banned=PR reduction. I am reading a lot about PR reduction seeming to be the consequence of buying and selling links, which is not banned but is a kick in the groin area. H
Ok let me sum this up with an image. You can not be scared of link buying, dominate serps, and have 20k in paypal: or you can be broke, and not know where the next $2 candy is coming from. Hard choice?
Who is able to really make a differcne between a bought link and a link given free due to courtesy?? Can not be the target of Google to disallow links at all..
I recently bought my very first link.. not for pr or anything like that but for traffic. I only buy links on sites with similar content..
Absolutely, I am doing the same, although buying links only on related sites. Also how could one decide if a link is bought - I have some natural PR5-6 links, which are not exactly on related to my sites, but they still bring good rankings to the leading pages.
